Lincoln J. Partridge died attempting to rescue George D. Tarr from a saw mill, Bristol, Maine, November 23, 1907. Partridge, 43, dealer, reached over a saw making 1,500 revolutions a minute in response to a cry from Tarr, 62, whose clothing had caught in a belt wheel. Falling on the saw, Partridge sustained fatal injuries. Tarr escaped.
