William P. Hardrict died attempting to save Felix W. Glinski from suffocation, Romulus, Michigan, May 18, 1972. When Glinski, 60, laborer, entered a clogged sewer catch basin, he was overcome and fell face down in the accumulated sewage. Hardrict, 45, department of public works foreman, immediately descended rungs on the inside of the basin and took hold of Glinski. Hardrict then lost consciousness and fell into the sewage face down. Another workman also was overcome when he entered the basin to give aid. All three men died. 52766-5976
