Vincent Douglas Parr died attempting to rescue Liliane Correia Parr, Amanda Filhas, and Andressa Filhas from drowning, Albany, New Hampshire, August 20, 2023. Correia Parr, 37, and her daughters, Amanda, 20, and Andressa, 17, were caught in the Swift River near rapids that descend over rocks into a deep swimming hole. Parr, 37, engineer, was on the rocky riverbank when he entered the water to help his wife and his stepdaughters, and the current swept him out. A man also entered the water to help. After the women made it out of the water, Parr remained in the river. The man and his wife swam to Parr to try to pull him out but were unable make progress against the current. Parr sank to the bottom. Another bystander later entered the river and helped to remove Parr, who had drowned.
