Theodore J. Gundler saved Anna M. Sellars from being struck by a train, Hamilton, Ohio, December 4, 1987. Attempting to cross a railroad track on which a train was approaching, Mrs. Sellars, 53, fell between the rails. Having crossed the track shortly before Mrs. Sellars, Gundler, 33, paper mill back tender, saw her fall. As the train bore down on Mrs. Sellars, Gundler lunged into the path of the train toward her. He grasped her by her coat and pulled her from the track. They tumbled to the ground as the train passed them.
