Stephen Asbury Huggins saved Laura A. Tolle and George Young from burning, Bluffton, South Carolina, February 6, 1979. Miss Tolle, 18, and George, 2, were in the back seat of an automobile that had been involved in a collision and in which the engine was afire. Huggins, 53, contractor, reached through a broken window and removed Miss Tolle. Unable to see George because of the smoke, Huggins crawled through the window into the rear compartment. He located George, handed him through the window to another man, and then climbed out. None of the three persons was burned.
