Richard A. Archibald

Richard A. Archibald died attempting to rescue Julian Staley from burning, Sundridge, Ontario, August 17, 1992. At night, Julian, 6 , was sleeping in a bedroom of a cottage when fire broke out in the adjoining kitchen. Archibald, 29, computer analyst, and others were in other bedrooms. Alerted to the fire, Archibald and the others fled the cottage; Archibald had made his way to the front porch when he realized that Julian was still inside. He turned and ran back into the smoke-filled cottage but collapsed shortly. Both he and Julian died in the fire.
