Ralph Wallace Williams died attempting to save Harry C. Williams from drowning, Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio, July 30, 1931. Harry, 20, farmhand, dived from a rowboat, which Ralph, 20, farmer, was rowing at night on Lake Erie, into deep water 500 feet from the shore. He rose 12 feet from the boat and called for help. Ralph, who was a poor swimmer, dived to Harry. A struggle followed, and both were drowned.
