Pil Lunn helped to save Peuo Tuy from drowning, Lowell, Massachusetts, May 28, 1990. While fishing, Peuo, 11, a non-swimmer, fell 12 feet from the top of a wall into the Pawtucket Canal and called for help. Her cousin, Pil, 13, student, immediately jumped into the canal after her and landed beside her. A struggle ensued during which Pil and Peuo submerged several times. They called for help. A man who was nearby saw the situation and jumped into the canal for them. Pil and Peuo grasped the man, submerging him. With difficulty, the man maneuvered back to the wall, to which he held as Pil and Peuo cling to him. Rescue personnel arrived with a hook and rope, which they used to lift Peuo, Pil, and the man, one at a time, to the top of the wall. Peuo, Pil, and the man sustained minor cuts, from which they recovered.
