Nancy Anderson died saving Mary A. and John W. Mobley from being struck by an automobile, Chester, Pennsylvania, November 1, 1968. An automobile jumped the curb in front of a supermarket and proceeded along the sidewalk where those in its path included Mary, 8, John, 5, and Mrs. Anderson, 39 practical nurse. Instead of running clear of the vehicle, Mrs. Anderson ran thirty feet to Mary and John, who were making no attempt to get out of the path of the automobile. Grasping Mary with one hand and John with the other, Mrs. Anderson thrust them out of the vehicle’s path. Immediately thereafter the automobile struck and killed Mrs. Anderson.
