Michael M. Haban, 25, clerk, saved two unidentified women and two unidentified men from drowning, Auskerada, New York, June 12, 1921. A rowboat containing two men and two women capsized in deep water in Canada Lake 200 feet from the bank, and the occupants were thrown into the water. Three of them clung to the boat, but one of the women became separated from the others and threshed 10 feet from the boat. There were waves two feet high. Haban, who was partly dressed, waded a few steps from the bank, swam 200 feet to her, and swam with her to the bank. Without resting, he swam to the boat and pushed it to the bank, with the woman and two men still clinging to it, being aided the last 100 feet by a swimmer who met them. 2237-1936
