Louis Lamade, 48, laborer, saved Francis C. O’Dea, 16; J. Arthur Pineau, 15; Charles Krauser, 17; and Lewis Jenkins, 15, from drowning, South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, June 10, 1906. Lamade rowed out on the Susquehanna River during a severe storm to a disabled launch, which was being carried toward a dam. With two boys in his boat and two in the launch, he held the latter against the current until the storm partly subsided, and then he succeeded in towing it close to shore, where others assisted them to land. 1228-165
