Lewis Spence Green saved Leiva Spezza from being killed by an automobile, Morgan, Pennsylvania, December 5, 1923. Leiva, 7, started across a road, which was 25 feet wide, as an automobile was approaching at a speed of 15 m.p.h., and she stopped in the middle of the road. Lewis, 9, schoolboy, ran from a point near the side of the road 17 feet to her and pushed her out of its path. As he then attempted to dodge backward, he was struck by the automobile. He was severely injured and was disabled 20 weeks, but he recovered. 23923-1962
