Judson H. Lamb, 46, publishing agent, saved Helen L. Way, 19, and Florence E. Jackman, 20, from drowning, Vermillion, Ohio, July 12, 1906. After running 400 feet to the scene, Lamb swam to the women, who had been carried out into Lake Erie 45 feet by the undertow, and, with a light pole under one arm, swam 20 feet, holding one of the victims in each hand.
