James Joseph Harris attempted to save Charles W. Harris from drowning, Indianapolis, Indiana, June 15, 1980. While swimming in a reservoir, Charles, 20, called for help. James, 25, warehouseman, who was not related to Charles, entered the water and swam 60 feet to him. A struggle ensued. After being submerged several times in deep water, James broke free of Charles but was too nearly exhausted to give further aid or to swim to the bank. Another man swam to them and, making two trips, took James and Charles separately to wadable water. 57338-6538
