Jakaiden Rynearson died attempting to rescue Zaneta Winters from assault, Peoria, Illinois, August 11, 2024. Inside her house, Winters, 35, was shot in the head by her estranged partner. Immediately, her 5-year-old screamed in distress outside the house as Winters lay in the front doorway. About 15 seconds after the gunshot, Rynearson, 19, a store clerk, exited her house directly across the street. She moved into her front yard, then jogged toward Winters’ house, calling out “Hey, you OK?” and for someone to call 911. As Rynearson reached Winters’ front yard and approached the front door, the assailant emerged from a blind spot at the side of the house and repeatedly shot Rynearson, whom he left lying in the yard. The assailant then walked away from the house and was later arrested by police. Both Winters and Rynearson were taken to a hospital in critical condition. Winters was pronounced dead the following day. Rynearson, who was shot in the head, neck, and back, died two-and-a-half months later. The assailant was convicted of two counts of murder and sentenced to life in prison.

Ms. Jakaiden Daishira Rynearson, beloved daughter and sister, aged 20, gained her wings on October 29, 2024, in Peoria, Illinois, surrounded by family.
Jakaiden was born on September 7, 2004 to Autumn (Rynearson) Palmer and Anthony Parks Jr.
Jakaiden was known for her personality; dramatic, funny, outgoing, helpful and loving demeanor.
Jakaiden graduated from Limestone Community High School in 2023 and was employed as a clerk at Spencer’s, where she was appreciated for her helpful attitude and friendly service. She liked movies, music and video games. She loved spending time with family, friends, her girlfriend Alondra Torres and her fur baby Keava Sue.
Jakaiden is survived by a loving family, her mother, Autumn (Julian) Palmer; her father, Anthony Parks Jr.; three brothers, Jakoby Rynearson and Jaise Palmer, both of Covington, GA and Geno Parks, of Peoria IL; three sisters, Jakyla Parks and Jaidis Palmer both of Covington, GA and Alessia Parks of Peoria IL as well as aunts, uncles and a lot of cousins who deeply LOVED her. Jakaiden’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
