Howard E. Hawk, 19, electrician, died attempting to save Clarence Henry, 42, machinist, from drowning, Port Clinton, Ohio, July 4, 1921. (See case of CLARENCE HENRY.) Hawk was one of the young men who swam to Henry. He reached Henry after swimming 350 feet. He took hold of Henry and made futile efforts to swim with him, but he became exhausted and lost his hold. Hawk was supported briefly by two other young men, but he became helpless, sank, and was drowned. 21729-1702
