Henry M. Diggs died helping to save Charles Davies and assisting in an attempt to save an unidentified man from an explosion, Baltimore, Maryland, March 7, 1913. (See case of WILLIAM E. VAN DYKE.) Diggs, 35, mate, was one of Van Dyke’s crew. He did not join in the appeals to Van Dyke not to go to the rescue, but remained at his post.
