Gladys May Lyne helped to save Richard W. Wade from drowning, Hopkinsville, Kentucky, September 14, 1931. Miss Lyne, 20, student, and Wade, 21, photograph finisher, bobbed up and down 12 to 15 feet from the boat. Wade got hold of Miss Lyne, and Miss Lyne placed her arm around Wade, who became almost unconscious, and supported him. They were twice more briefly submerged and then were reached by a girl, who towed Wade as she swam to the boat. Miss Lyne still held Wade and helped to place him on the boat. (See case of M. HUGH KELLY.) 32129-2656
