George E. McCue, 26, porter, saved Jacquelyn M. Herman, 2, from being run over by a train, Garden City, Kansas, November 19, 1908. McCue ran 560 feet, part of this distance on the track ahead of a passenger train running 40 m.p.h., and, grasping the baby and its carriage, which had rolled onto the track, threw them aside. He then cleared the track himself, the pilot beam of the engine missing him by a few inches. 3100-294
