Frederick E. Kilroe, 20, watchmaker, died attempting to save George H. Massicotte, 21, machinist, from drowning, Middlebury, Connecticut, July 10, 1910. Kilroe swam in Lake Quassapaug to the assistance of Massicotte, who had released his hold of a boat and had become distressed. Massicotte grabbed Kilroe and both sank. The former did not reappear, and Kilroe was too exhausted to reach safety. 5417-403
