Elijah Love, 60, conductor, saved Eva Robinson, 50, from being killed by a train, Anderson, Indiana, December 11, 1912. Mrs. Robinson stood at the middle of a track, unaware that a passenger train was approaching her at a speed of about 10 m.p.h. When the train was only 20 feet from her, Love jumped from a slowly moving train on a track eight feet from the one she was on and ran across the track, grasping Mrs. Robinson and pushing her off the track ahead of him. Both fell just clear of the track barely in time to avoid being struck. 15582-1236
