Edward Kobble, Jr., saved Daniel D. Huber from drowning, Phillipsburg, New Jersey, June 17, 1970. When Daniel, 10, got into trouble in the Delaware River, Kobble, 27, restaurant owner, went to his aid. He reached Daniel in deep water 150 feet from the bank and began towing him. Daniel threw both arms tightly about Kobble’s neck. He retained the hold until Kobble submerged briefly. By pushing, Kobble then moved Daniel to within 15 feet of the bank. By that time Kobble was very tired and, after giving Daniel a final push to within reach of a man who had waded into the water, he then followed them to the bank.
