Charles Wesley Claxton died attempting to save Felix W. Glinski and William P. Hardrict from suffocation, Romulus, Michigan, May 18, 1972. Glinski, 60, laborer, was overcome in a clogged sewer catch basin and fell face down in the accumulated sewage; and Hardrict, 45, Department of Public Works foreman, lost consciousness when he went to Glinski’s aid. Claxton, 21, laborer, then descended rungs on the inside of the basin; but he also was overcome and fell face down in the sewage. All three men died.
