Boyce Lindsay, 16, delivery boy, saved E. Reynolds Smith, 11, from being run over by a train, Spartanburg, South Carolina, May 28, 1910. Stooping over one rail before an approaching string of boxcars when the front car was but four feet distant, Boyce flung Reynolds from the middle of the track where he had fallen from his bicycle. As he was straightening up to get back from the track, Boyce was struck on the right shoulder and whirled around against the side of the car. Neither was injured. 5224-472
