Benjamin Frazier, 51, crossing watchman, saved Wanda, 6, and Catherine Sulek, 4, from being killed by a train, Wheeling, West Virginia, August 23, 1914. Wanda and Catherine started across a track on which a passenger train was approaching at a speed of about 20 m.p.h. When the train was about 50 feet from them, Frazier ran onto the track from a point 10 feet from Wanda. He pushed Wanda off the track and then lifted Catherine, who stood at the middle of the track, and carried her off. The front of the locomotive was within a foot of Frazier when he cleared its path. 13713-1253
