Arthur J. Foucault rescued Matthew C. D. Larson from burning, Orlando, Florida, March 11, 1986. Matthew, 1, was sleeping in his second-floor bedroom when fire broke out in the carpet near his crib. Foucault, 61, semi-retired business consultant who lived next door, was alerted to the fire and ran to the house. After three attempts, Foucault, clad only in shorts, entered Matthew’s smoke-filled room, where he removed Matthew from his crib and took him downstairs to safety. Matthew suffered multiple burns, to which he succumbed 18 days later. Foucault was treated for second-degree burns to one foot. 61067-7063
