Arthur A. Henry, 41, mill superintendent, died attempting to save Myrtle A. Hager and Tena J. McLean, both 20, from drowning, Morgan Park, Minnesota, July 16, 1917. Miss Hager and Miss McLean became distressed about 55 feet from the bank of the St. Louis River, where the water was 13 feet deep. Henry threw off his coat, vest, and shoes, then swam to Miss Hager, who was holding Miss McLean, and grasped her around the chest. Miss Hager released Miss McLean and seized Henry around the neck. They sank together, and Henry was drowned, but Miss Hager and Miss McLean were taken ashore by men who reached them with a boat. Miss McLean could not be revived. 18199-1367
