Almon L. Lilley died attempting to save John T. Bradbury from drowning, Kingsland, Texas, June 7, 1926. While Bradbury, 42, clergyman, was fishing in the Llano River, he waded into deep water and got into difficulty. Lilley, 37, cleaner and dyer, who was fully clothed, swam 55 feet to Bradbury. Bradbury was much excited and grasped Lilley. Both went under the surface, rose within a few feet of each other, and then sank and were drowned. 26340-2197
