Alexander Fraser, 46, fireman, sustained fatal injuries attempting to save Frank O. Stenberg, 28, stationary engineer, from burning, Allston, Massachusetts, January 16, 1907. Fraser entered an engine room filled with steam that was escaping at 85 pounds’ pressure from an exploded engine, in search of Stenberg, who he thought was in the room. In about five minutes he came out of the room, badly scalded. He was taken to the hospital, where he died the next morning. Stenberg had left the engine room before Fraser entered. 6318-541
